They Sayers 04:44
They say good things come to those who wait But they didn't calculate your mental state Then they tell you if you want it You got to go get it And if you never do You're going to regret it So you find yourself stuck in the middle You think you might be lost You wonder if you wait much longer What will be the cost? I wish I could tell you which numbers to choose And I wish I could tell you But I'm not in your shoes Everyone wants to be the one To take you to your personal promiseland And if you want to be a man son You've got to make your own living But don't keep it all for yourself And forget about giving And when life gives you lemons You know what to do But stay away from drinking it too fast And the sugar too Someday down the line You'll be just like me Giving someone else advice on just how to be
2.
Beatdown 04:12
There's something happening here I look behind me there's nobody near And my head it was gone Left it back at my place and I went on a walk The cold breeze was enough To keep my wits about me between each puff But I kept my eyes down When they approached me and they turned me around Hey man can you toss me a five? Our car right here just ran out of gas Said "Yeah, I can help you out, there's a station right by the overpass" One had a look in his eyes When I slurred my words he looked at the other guys As I went through my bills Couldn't count them or on my legs to keep still

No Name 04:39
Like a fledgling child Homesick and lonely Until you jumped from the floor Doing just what they told you Thought you were already gone So you gave into it And when they watch you smile I hope they look in your eyes` Through your friendly disguise And they see you there Had noone around And you could not be found You say that now you wouldn’t have it any other way Live for now and find yourself again another day But later when you’re lost and cannot find yourself You’ll be putting blame upon someone else

We want to be with you We’ re going to come get ya Put you in our magic compact car You can take the front seat Your work is now complete Don’t you want to be a star? Chorus: You’ll never forget us, if you would just let us Take you for a spin (Come in) I know it looks like a beater, But this one, you can’t beat her Sometimes she drives, Others she flies You got no need to pack now, One day we’ll be back now Jump in the magical compact car Couple thousand miles from the home that we know Not homesick but sick of home And the farther we go, so escapes the ego Eyes twinkling as we watch the future unfold

I’ll watch you while you lay there You say that you won’t sleep I know your heart is sinking low And red is all you see So many times In my life, dear I’ve said goodbye too soon I don’t know how, but it’s over now Good time, bad night for you If you should choose To leave me when you wake Don’t be confused You’ve every right to forsake And now I know I may be just like the rest, It really kills me But if you let me keep you An honest man, you’ll see The silver lining shining through If you should pardon me Now rest your weary head dear, Knowing I know what I’ve done The guilt and shame and fear and pain Will take a hold of me Until I see the sun

She’s hard up, and as morning sets in, She puts her head down Her mind is achin’ She had been taken Once again And a man should break his back to earn a night with her She thinks as she smiles She makes up, And the mirror makes her feel much better But Waterfalls and doubts They have brought you here They could have come without ya On a path that wasn’t cleared Now she stands under the moon She knows where she’ll be soon Like last evening Lights another smoke Laughs at all his jokes Now they’re leaving And a man should break his back to earn a night with her She thinks as she smiles Foggy morning comes again She leaves her newest friend While he’s sleeping And a man should break his back to earn a night with her She thinks as she smiles Foggy morning comes again She leaves her newest friend While he’s sleeping

Runaway 03:36
I’m a runner away, I got nothing to say Won’t you make it easy And not beg me to stay Cuz when I’m talking to you I feel like a fool Not even I know what’s behind All my anxious moves Nothing changes with the days These are my ways If I could I’d change for you When I don’t come back Cut me a little slack If I could I’d run back to you I’m never around When you come to town Soon as I hear word of you I turn right around I’m a runner away, I got nothing to say Won’t you make it easy And not beg me to stay

about

This is my debut album. Acquaintance features nine songs that I've written over the last few years. The songs were recorded with some musicians I've worked closely with in the past. The project involved 6 months of hard work in the studio, and hopefully it shows! Enjoy
